Thanks to all for guidance on how to download the above version.
This I have now done and installed it on my system. I regret to say however,
that the problem is still there.
I will try to explain it again.
If I have a spreadsheet open, and from the menu I go to
Tools-Options-OpenOffice.org Calc - then select "General"-"View"-"Calculate" in
turn - when I get to Sort Lists the Error message "Invalid Increment" comes up
. The program doesn't crash, but from that point all the other Option choices
become unavailable (i.e. producing the same error message). I realise that one
is usually only interested in using one of the options, and unlikely to be
trawling through the whole list, but there has to be an explanation. Closing
and re-opening the program allows Options to become available again.
It doesn't seem to happen if only a new blank sheet is open.
