If I have a spreadsheet open, and from the menu I go to Tools-Options-OpenOffice.org Calc - then select "General"-"View"-"Calculate" in turn - when I get to Sort Lists the Error message "Invalid Increment" comes up . The program doesn't crash, but from that point all the other Option choices become unavailable (i.e. producing the same error message). I realise that one is usually only interested in using one of the options, and unlikely to be trawling through the whole list, but there has to be an explanation. Closing and re-opening the program allows Options to become available again.
What's your locale setting, and what do you see under "Minimum Change" on the "Calculate" page? The error message is for invalid input in that field.
