I suppose I would have found it myself after a few more days (or weeks) of searching, but having knowledgeable correspondents is much more efficient ... and neighborly. Since my Writer is set up for both left-to-right and right-to-left text entry, I tried those tool bar keys as well, but they worked vertically while in Chinese page format, so no Mongolian on my box. I am familiar with the appearance of the Mongolian writing system, but know nothing of its details. Just out of intellectual curiosity, however, how did you manage to get get the columns to run from left to right? I played around with it a bit, using Chinese characters, but no luck. Thanks again.
