]ok well it's not too relevant anymore but:

I typed all the ocmments on all my students' papers in a very simple
text file; then I had to enter the marks in my spreadsheet, and
thought -- wouldn't it be nice if these were organized alphabetically?
If only I had typed these into  spreadsheet or table or something!

and then I thought, why not use the page break at the end each page
(entered manually as I was writing) as
the field  seperator, and convert to a table?  

But this appears not to work in part b/c one can't set he row
seperator, only the column seperator.  

Anyway if someone knows a trick to do this I'm still curious, but
it's no longer pressing as I just did the data entry completely
manually.
