You need to change the language of the new text. Highlight the text in Spanish, then right click and choose Character, then set it to the language, some version of Spanish, that you are using that has a dictionary installed. It will have a check mark beside the language that is installed. The others won't do anything until you install the dictionary, downloaded from here: http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/download_dictionary.html And the OmegaT sounds really interesting.
