I have this item listed and with a check mark, but there is no "value" type
setting for it. The box just displays three items and they all have a
check mark. (Spelling Hyphenation, and Thesaurus) Now when I click the
Edit button, another dialog is presented with the three items and at the
top there is a language setting and it is set for English(USA). In that
list box there are six languages available to choose, but only three of
them have the ABC with a check mark in front of them. Two English and the
other is Italian that have a special indicator.

Under the Languages options, everything is set for English(USA).

STATUS UPDATE: I have just been able to get something to work. If I create
a new document the spell check works great and it also will now check the
spelling as I type as well. This is the first time that it has worked at
all. But only in a new document. So I have to conclude that it was the
original language settings that were set to "default" that was creating
the problem. I had set all these settings to English (USA) yesterday, but
they are evidently only used when creating new documents.

I have not been able to find the settings for the language in existing
documents to be able to change it. The character attributes appear to be
fine and the proper language is set there is as well. If I copy/paste the
contents of an existing doc into a new doc, it remains inoperative as it
copies the format settings. I did discover that if I select the text in
the existing doc, like using CTRL-A, then right click and select "Default
Formatting" then the spell check will work properly on the existing doc.
Of course I loose all the format settings, but they are easy enough to go
back and reset.

Also, if I open an existing 1.1.4 doc, it also appears to be working now as
well. I do not recall actually testing this before since I do not have
much reason to go back edit completed documents.

So it appears to be working now and should remain operational, until the
next beta version update and all the config settings have to be repeated
again since it creates a new user config tree for each version for the
default values. But at least I know now what needs to be set.

Thank you for your reply and assistance.
James
