@brickbarn.com:

Ami pro is unlikely to export to PDF -- it was an excellent word processor in the early nineties, much better than MS Word of that date, with a strikingly clean and attractive interface. Later rewritten, and, I believe, largely destroyed, as Lotus Word Pro.

If Bo still has Ami Pro then she will be able to save her files to .rtf format
which will be fairly accurate.
Ami Pro was rewritten, and Word Pro was different - but much superior.
It is still IMHO a better Wp than OOo.
The OOo designers would do well to have a look at it.
In particular
* the properties box is context sensitive and modeless
(i.e. changes made to say para style are reflected in the document immediately
without having to close the box down)
* also, a table will allow the cursor to sit either side of it.
This means there does not have to be a blank paragraph after a table,
and so a table can fill a page without forcing a blank page to follow
(but perhaps I am missing a trick on OOo here?)
* and LWP allows dockable dialog boxes - cf the "find this page" dialog in Firefox 1.0.4

However, OOo is almost there.
(although from what I can see of OOo2 this is taking a step away with the proliferation of toolbars)
