Pardon me for asking a simple question. Have you tried selecting
the entire table, copying it, opening a new spreadsheet, and pasting
into cell A1? It might work. I am not sure what would happen if some of
the cells in the HTML table had been split or merged. It might not make
any difference.
I have tried this with 3 column 39 row table in an HTML document on
my web site. All I had to do was to optimize the column widths.
