It is a common phenomena to be found on most mailing lists.
I agree a reliable automated envelope printing module is a must for OpenOffice. A lets impovise and get over the hurdle mentality does not provide a professional robust solution David & Paul: & & That's a very provincial solution suitable for hobbyists. & & At the risk of wandering way off topic for this list: & & Let's apply your solution to a payroll of, say, 1000 employees. Now & assume each is producing only one letter per week that requires an & envelope. Let's further assume an average gross wage of $15/hr. I hope & you agree that these are minimalist numbers, but when all the & calculations are complete, that is still $1250.00 being spent *every & week* on a "free" product just for this one issue. ( ((5*1000)/60)*15 ) & & I have always maintained that until basic functions like envelope & printing on *all* printers are reliable, OOo is little more than a flash & in the pan that doesn't stand a chance of being at the top of the heap. & Nothing has happened since OOo 1.0.0 when viewed from my knothole to & alter my assessment of its competitiveness. This isn't an outcome I & desire, just an unvarnished take on reality. & & Doug & & & PAUL SUTTON wrote: & > My solution takes all of 5 minutes, and produces results that are & > legible and looks far more professional than hand written addresses.
