I agree that recording seems to record only selected things - usually stuff you already know!
The only way to learn is to dig and surf!- Andrew Pitonyak has a lot of useful stuff.
I found OOo basic very obscure (after Lotus Script)
but here is how I create and size a table

hope this helps

Hi David,

thanks for this, but I fear I am quite out of my depth here :-(

If there is a macro expert out there who would be prepared to write a (simple?) macro to achieve the tasks marked as "not OK" below, myself and a significant proportion of the large number of translators using the DejaVu translation memory software would be eternally grateful :-)

This is what the macro should do with a specific type of txt file opened in OOo:

1. Select All (OK)
2. Set font (OK)
3. Set language (not OK)
4. Convert tab-delimited text to 3-column table (OK)
5. Set column width to specific values, e.g. 3cm, 7.5cm, 7.5cm (not OK)
6. Set view to Web Layout (OK)
7. Save as Word97/2000/XP, using the same file name as the txt file (not OK)

Regards
