Hi James,

I have no idea. I tried to use the all caps function (Format > Character >
Text Effects > Effects and chose Uppercase or Lowercase -  then use the
normal capslock etc. ... but nothing reproduced the annoying behaviour you
report.
Since OOo is the only program showing this behaviour, I suppose it isn't the
Cpas lock that's accidently on.
What about a reboot?
What version of OOo on what Mac?

Sorry that I can't help you! Maybe some other Mac user has a cue.
