OpenOffice will not remove Microsoft Office.  However, when you install 
it, it will give you the option of making it the default application for 
Microsoft Office files.  This is your choice and it can easily be 
changed later.  There is no reason why you couldn't have both OpenOffice 
and Microsoft Office on the same computer.  However, if you want to 
remove Microsoft Office, you will have to do so yourself.
