Er. Do you really mean "Excel" and "Word"? If so you've come to the wrong place. This is a worldwide group of volunteers who use of OpenOffice.org's office suite and who help other users of that software. Word and Excel are Microsoft products and have nothing to do with OpenOffice.org. If you need help with those products, please contact Microsoft or one of the many internet/web forums that discuss problems using its products. OpenOffice.org is *free* software that competes quite successfully with Microsoft Office. You can download it from www.openoffice.org. When I say it's free, I mean you don't pay to download it (other than what your ISP may charge), you don't pay to use it and you don't pay for support. Documentation is also free on the web site. OpenOffice.org has components that correspond to Microsoft Office's programs: Microsoft OpenOffice.org Word Writer Excel Calc Powerpoint Impress Access Base - Draw for creating drawings, charts etc. - Math for creating complex mathematical formulae OpenOffice.org can read Excel and Word documents except the newest "2007" format. That facility is coming with version 3 due very soon. If you decide to install OpenOffice, take a look at chapter 11 on Mailmerge in the OpenOffice.org documentation at http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2 .
