I applaud what you're trying to achieve.

But, the law being as dumb as it is, what you are proposing could 
well be considered illegal in some jurisdictions. At the very least, 
anyone replying to the list manager on behalf of an unknown user (who 
may be mailicious in intent) potentially opens himself up to a very 
sticky time with the authorities in the event of things going pear-
shaped. And as the list is international in nature, do people in the 
UK wish to risk being extradited to the USA, for example, to stand 
trial?

I for one would most likely not risk it, I'm afraid, having seen an 
example of how legal ignorance in the UK of normal computer use 
results in reasonable actions becoming prosecutable.
