It wasn't URLs or whatever so much (I doubt they can be usefully
spell-checked) as the final note about "certain words".

The simple fact is that "language" and "may [not] be hyphenated" are
orthogonal attributes. There may be good reasons for not hyphenating
that long German (say) word - but I would like it spell-checked
please :-)

Actually I've just checked the help file (quite a lot under
hyphenation - two entries at least).

"Preventing Hyphenation of Specific Words
1.Choose Tools - Options - Language Settings - Writing Aids
2.Select a dictionary in the User-defined dictionary list, and then
click Edit.
If the list is empty, click New to create a dictionary.
3.In the Word box, type the word you want to exclude from
hyphenation, followed by an equal sign (=), for example,
"pretentious=".
4.Click New, and then click Close.

To quickly exclude a word from hyphenation, select the word, choose
Format - Character, click the Font tab, and select "None" in the
Language box.

"
So there is a right way of doing this, it appears......... even if it
suggests the wrong way as well :-)
