You shouldn't need Winzip, or any other "unzipper" to be able to use
OpenOffice. Please explain exactly what you are trying to "open" and what
happens when you try. Please be careful to tell us the exact text of any
error messages you get. Please also say which version of OpenOffice you are
using and which version of which Operating System (OpenSuse 10.1, Windows XP
SP3, ...)

When you save an OpenOffice document in one of its own (ODF = Open Document
Format) formats (.odt, .ods etc.) the resulting file *is* a "zip" archive
but that should never be of interest to you. OpenOffice does all that behind
the scenes and uses its own built-in software to do it.

If you really need a zip/unzip utility for some reason you can download
7-zip from <http://www.7-zip.org/>. It's free and can handle pretty much
anything Winzip can.
