use it).
My problem now is that the documentation doesn't say how to delete "left
out" DDE links.

Hmm, DDE links. Another can of worms. Do you have embeded objects in the
document? If so, I expect that you need to delete the object. Does this even
work on Linux?
Hmmm.. No, I don't have any object there. I would guess the API has a way
to delete DDE links, because you can go to Edit/Links menu, select one over
there and press the "Break" button. That way it does delete the link. If
you happen to have any DDE formula, the link is reestablished upon recalc...
but this is not the case.
Sadly, it is not always the case. I do not even know how to access the
DDE Links off hand (I spent about five minutes look at this).
My formula gets overwritten with the "text only" value.
It's easy to reproduce those left over links in the document:
a) create a DDE link formula, just make sure the "filename" comes from
another cell
b) change file names on the "filename" cell (They don't even have to exist)
c) go to Edit/Link menu, and you will see those "leftover" links... and only
one formula.
Can't understand why the API documentation doesn't tell how to delete those.
Maybe they didn't expect to be possible to have "leftover" links and this is
a bug.
Andrew: Do you agree? Should I go and file a bug report?
Thank you in advance
Yes, I think that you should. You should probably ask on the
[EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list to see if they have an opinion.
