I've tried to use the MS Word dictionary in OO but it gives me an error that
the file is invalid, yet it works fine in Word.
When I looked into the OO dictionary file format, it seems to have a LOT of
strange formatting/control characters. The Word one is only a long list of
words with nothing else.
I notice this too. Sometimes, but not always when I opened the .dic file
in note pad even, a bunch of Ascii characters showed up, and other times
it showed the words with weird characters in it.
I also tried to open the Word Dictionary (medical.dic)in OO and stepped
through it adding all the words to the dictionary. There is a limit to how
many words you can add to the personal dic. I only make it to the "D"s
before it tells me the dictionary is full.
That is interesting, how many words did it get to, do you know? Perhaps
you will have to have more than one. You may want to file and RFE and
ask for a bigger dictionary file.
