Looks like you are running Windows but you don't say which version so I'll
assume XP. If you are running some other flavour please let us know - I
personally won't be able to help much. What does your Event Viewer show in
the Application log for the date[s]/time[s] in question? You'll need to tell
us the specific error number[s] involved before we can even begin to
diagnose the problem. You will probably also get excellent hints by clicking
on the error numbers in that log and seeing what Microsoft has to say about
them.
I notice that there's also on your desktop a crash report ("crashrep") for
some MS-DOS program. What's that about? The fact that you have this *and*
problems with OpenOffice makes me suspect there is something fundamentally
wrong with your Windows installation.
Also, why are the OpenOffice configuration settings represented as an icon
on your desktop? This is not normal. Have you been editing these by hand?
Not a good plan.
