Not required, he's running kubuntu 7.04 & OOo 3.0 won't interfer with his current (U)OOo 2.2. John, you just need to download the OOo_3.0.0_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz and install. Here are instructions on how to do that.
