To avoid the opening screen, I use the Writer launcher from
http://stuporglue.org/openoffice.org-aqua-launchers.php
I use that as well. However, it is for Mac OS X. It won't help the
original poster since he appears to be using Windows. Also, he won't see
your post since he is not subscribed to the list. You need to cc him in
order for him to see you replies
