I want to print sheets of uniform "labels" on Business-Card stock. The content of these is entirely text, with no variable fields. I have reviewed several tutorials on the subject, but am still flummoxed.

You are mixing up labels and business cards here - but I think you are right to do so. A quick look suggests to me that OpenOffice's Business Cards facility is mostly useful in that it creates a complex layout for all the items that it expects you to want to include on a business card. If you need to print on business card stock but to have total control over the content and format, it may well be that using OpenOffice's Labels facility is the way to go.

"...entirely text, with no variable fields..." tells me it is a letter.
Or at least can be treated as one.

"If you need to print on business card stock but"..."have total

That the media (paper) might be die cut card stock is only of concern at alignment time. Once the file is aligned then save it somewhere safe and print all you want of that file with that paper (card stock).

I do it all the time. Complete with pictures and in color.
