Nope, neither can I, because I am also getting 0.03 as an answer
rather than 0.3, as well as 0.2857. So as you suggest I must be doing
something wrong.

Any chance that your 8 in D2 is actually entered as 7.999. If I plug
this into the cell D2, the array formula will give a result of 0.2857
(rounded to 4 decimal places).
