The drawback of this excellently flexible system is that OpenOffice, unlike MS Word, provides no way to tell you that it is substituting one font for another.
I might make a mistake, but thought I once saw that in the window that displays the used font (Format|Character of Paragraph style) it indicates the font used for replacing.
