Hello, I haven't a clue... Did you download from www.openoffice.org ? Normally, the site recognises which version you need. I suppose it's a Mac Intel with Leopard, not a PowerPC? I also suppose you did the procedure right: after dwonload, doucleclick on the dmg, then drag OOo to your applications folder (reboot isn't necessary), and maybe copy the blue icon with birds to your dock for easy access...
