This is kind of a stupid question, but is there a way to format a csv
file so that when imported to OO.o there can be several sheets and is
there a way to force some formatting.
AFAIK: The answer is no.
The reason for asking is that for debugging purposes, I generate a csv
file containing many separate elements. What I normally do is to
import the CSV and manually split it into sheets and format headings.
As far as I know, CSV contains only data. It has no provision for
spreadsheet functions, such as sheets or formatting. Open up a CSV
file, in a text editor, and you'll see it only contains data and
commas.
I agree, but I was wondering if there was some tricky ways to convey
some additional information.
I think the only thing you can do is create a separate CSV file for
each sheet and them import them individually using Insert Sheet from
File. Adopting a file naming convention might make things easier ...
Which is exactly what I do.
