I have found a problem in formating input fields.
I have set up a form which can be filled in using input fields and then
saved and printed. It is a "Standard Contract for Sale and Purchase of
Real Estate" which has been optimized to benefit the buyer instead of
the seller. Most of the fields are standard text and work just fine,
however, I've have a problem with the fields which contain monetary values.
Because OOo will not allow a tab to be set to the right of the right
paragraph boundary, I have inserted a two column and seven row table.
Column one contains text with input fields, and column two contains
monetary values. Column two, row one contains the purchase price of the
property. Rows two through six contain values for deposit, loan amount,
and etc. Row seven contains the sum of rows two through six which must
equal the value in row one.
If I insert an input field in any cell of column two, it will not accept
the currency formating as applied from the "Table" menu. If I just put
a place holding number in the cell, it will accept the currency
formating, but when I change the value, the formating reverts to the
standard number format. I must then manually change the formating back
to currency.
The whole purpose of the "Form" is to be able to open the form template,
sequentially fill in the fields, and have a filled in "Contract" which I
can print, sign, and submit to the seller as an offer to buy. As things
stand now, the monetary fields must be filled in out of sequence and
manually reformatted.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Bob
