Assuming the files have the appropriate file extensions, OpenOffice
should open them, by double clicking. However, if Microsoft Office is
also installed, the file associations may point to it. If this is the
case, you can easily change the file associations, by following these
instructions:
Changing file associations
Right click on file icon
Select Open With > Choose Program...
Check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and
choose the desired application.
