Worse, every time I open an old document I will > be faced with styles that don't match and all kinds of other issues. I think I have finally tracked down the problem to the Extension Manager. In 2.4.1 I have four extensions installed, and all work fine, in spite of the fact that when I open Extension Manager in 2.4.1 and try to open My Extensions I get an error message: "(com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException) {{ Message = "com.sun.star.deployment.DeploymentException: an error occurred during file opening", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface)@ 1d54180 }}" I can run 3.0 just fine if I delete the .openoffice.org folder so it starts out fresh. However, if I tell it to migrate all my settings from 2.4.1 it becomes unstable. And the damning evidence for the Extension Manager as the culprit is that if I use a fresh .openoffice.org folder I can open the Extension Manager in 3.0 just fine. If I migrate my 2.4.1 settings the Extension Manager in 3.0 will not even open. Ideally I should fix whatever is causing the above error message in 2.4.1. I googled on "com.sun.star.uno.RuntimeException" and came up with numerous pages, none of which I understood. However, they all seemed to involve Java. OOo 2.4.1 sees two Javas that I have installed: Sun Microsystems Inc. 1.6.0_0 and 1.6.0_10. I have tried enabling one and the other but it doesn't matter. It may be something in the parameters or class path, but I don't understand enough to know how to use those options. I can't even uninstall the four extensions in 2.4.1 because I can't open the My Extensions folder. Maybe I could do it manually if I knew how. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
