There are messy ways of doing this: one is to adjust the spacing
above and below a paragraph (in Format | Paragraph...) in step - that
is, equally - until the next paragraph just spills over beyond the

anything *except* "As character".
o Under Position | Vertical (on the same tab), choose Center and the

o Go to Insert | Table... .

o Drag the bottom of the table to the bottom of the text area of the page.
o Enter your text into the table cell.
o Go to Table | Table Properties... | Text Flow | Alignment (or
right-click | Table... | Text Flow | Alignment) and set "Vertical
alignment" to Centered.
You ask how to centre a table vertically. You cannot do this
directly, I think, but you can centre the text within a table which
fills the page - the second method above - which amounts to the same
thing. Alternatively, you can do this by putting your table into a
frame and using the first method above.
