@ Dotan: I did not remove the 2.4 version when I installed the PPA
version on my test machine. I just installed the PPA & so far seems to
be working fine. Perhaps this is another KDE vs Gnome issue? You can try
reinstalling (U)2.4 and then reinstalling the PPA to see if that changes
anything.

@ Keith: Ah, but are you running the PPA version or the standard OOo 3
version from OpenOffice.org? The PPA version shouldn't put anything in /opt.
