When you uninstalled OOo, did you also manually delete this folder from
the C drive, as I suggested in a previous note:
Documents and Settings > [user name] > Application Data > OpenOffice.org
I think that folder is not deleted automatically when you uninstall OOo,
so you have to do it manually. Deleting it (without also reinstalling
OOo) has solved for me problems similar to those you describe.
If you did do that, and the problems continue, then I'm out of ideas.
