How are you on disk space? I did an Open Office install on a Windws computer recently (actually Portable Open Office) which was low on disk space. It installed (unpacked) fine, and I could run the openoffice.exe icon and get to the mail screen, but clicking on the Writer or Calc icons locked it up bad.
