You saved it as a PDF with an ODT extension.  If you force open it in adobe
I believe you will see your document.

When you export as a pdf, delete the .odt extension.  You should have
Automatic File Extension checked as well.

Just a thought, producing a PDF file is not done with "SAVE AS" but rather use FILE -> EXPORT AS PDF.
