Actually, what you are doing here is simply putting the image onto the background. This is fine, as long as the image is already in a suitable watermark format ie largely transparent or very light in colour. The tip I outlined will allow you to add any type of graphic as well as handle the transparency etc. The difference is that it only moves the graphic to the back, rather than onto the background. Otherwise it is identical.
