Good suggestion. It worked, but it messes up line spacing. :(

Note that I do have a workaround - replace the en-dash with a
non-breaking hyphen and then scale the hypen to 150%. It's just that I
shouldn't have to do that. And next time something like this happens
the workaround may not work.
