Actually I am looking at the thread as I type this and the original op

<sigh> Forgive my shortcut.
I did not "hijack" anything - intentionally.
Because I can't memorize a dozen or more list addresses, I seleted to
"reply" in order to get the email address for the list.
Then I deleted the content with the intention of posting my own message. I
had seen nothing wrong with this, and didn't know that it would cause such a
stir.
While I try not to let my disability show (which is most evident by my
substandard memory) I guess I failed. At any rate I did not mean to offend
anyone.
So congratulations to Keith who obviously has an excellent memory and low
tolerance for the rest of us.
I had - at the time - seen no harm in using a coping mechanism which has
worked well for me. Until now.

PS If you really don't want me here - if you only want "normal" people with
"normal" memory capacities, I understand. You're not the only ones.
I didn't know it would be such a big deal to people.
Sean;
My memory is no more excellent or not than anybody else's. It is that
I follow this list not via email, but through the gmane news server so
that I had the entire thread in front of me when I replied to Gene.
Actually I am one of the most tolerant people you are likely to meet.
It is not that people do not want you here. It is simply that it is
long standing etiquette to start a new message or thread for a new
question. It keeps the thread on topic and minimizes confusion. If you
have difficulty remembering the list address there are a number of
things that can be done. You can reply and get the address to the list
and copy it to the clipboard, then cancel the mail and start a new
message with a new subject and paste the address from the clipboard into
the to field, or you can add the list address to your mail clients
address book and call it from there whenever you need to start a new
message.
Regards
Keith
