Did your friend actually say you needed Word or Word Perfect?  Those are
two commercial applications, that you have to pay for.  Or did he say
you can find an excellent word processor here?  OpenOffice.org is a full
office suite, comparable to Microsoft Office.  It includes a word
processor called "Writer", which can be used as you would Word or Word
Perfect.  Best of all, unlike those other two, it's a free download,
from www.openoffice.org.
