Add a funtion key to do highlight fill - for example Shift+F10.

Use End/Home to get to either the begining or end of the line, then:

Shift+End to select to the end of line
Shift+Home to select to the start of the line
Shift+F10 to highlight the line.

I selected Shift+F10 (you can select some other) because: 1) you already
have your fingers positioned on the shift key for the other commands,
and 2) F10 is in close proximity to the Home and End keys. Modify to
what is comfortable to you. You can also explore modifying the
Shift+End/Home keys to shorten that to something else if you wish.

To make a key combination/selection for Highlight Fill:

Tools|Customize|Keyboard|Format|Highlight Fill|key combo.

Be aware that selecting in a table is different, so check F1 and the
keyboard shortcut tables there.
