Alternatively, merely saving the document with a ".doc" extension is *not*
sufficient. You will end up with a document in OpenOffice format but with a
Microsoft extension and poor old Windows will get confused. Instead you have
to use Save As and choose the appropriate Word format from the list of
available formats. In addition you should follow Russell Butler's excellent
advice above.
