1. Open Writer 2. Go to Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Memory 3. Near the bottom of the pane is a box labelled "Load OpenOffice.org during system start up"; make sure this box has a tick (check mark) in it. 4. Close Writer 5. You *might* need to reboot Windows. Now you will have an icon in the System Tray. It is the "Quickstarter".
