Changing the subject line on a message in an existing thread does not
change the thread line, it only confuses the thread line. To start a
new thread you must start with an entirely new message, composed from
scratch. Changing the subject line does NOT remove the threading
information embedded in the message header that mail clients use to
group thread information together. The result is that your message
about apples is entirely lost in the message thread about pears. Anyone
who is ignoring the pears thread will never see your message and you
have screwed yourself out of potential solutions.
