I tried this maybe a year ago with Powerpoint, but it did not work,

I took an Impress slide show of 47 slides and exported it to HTML
and it worked.

I needed it for a Powerpoint presentation last year, but no go.

So with my Impress presentation for a class this weekend, I tried
it again. I wanted to place a test version online to people who do not
have OOo. Plus it helps when they are not even in the same state.

It worked great.

Suggestion

Save yourself time and effort by putting the powerpoint on a website called slideshare. You can either allow it to be viewed by anyone or only selected people. Check it out.

The Impress "slides" export well and it works for me, currently.

The thing I would like to see is "export" or publish to a
CD. This option is in my Powerpoint version, so I can create
a presentation and then make it "auto-play" from a CD for those
who do not have Powerpoint or Impress. It is sometimes needed.
It is weird to need to create it in Impress, then save it as
a PP file, then use PP to create a standalone CD.
