But back to my off topic question:
Why is it that no one seems to use the Writer projects user mailing
list, or the Impress one - Why have all of the support emails for the
different packages coming via this single list?
Just curious how it came that those other, module specific lists,
seemed to have not caught on.

probably because they aren't listed on a page where users might end up
after trying to look for support. I know i found this mailing list here

aren't listed there. where'd you find them anyway? - oh.. and i have not
received a reply...
