Hi Clifton, as I know, the reason to register a new database made in OOo.org is to get the possibilities to rich all the programs includes in the OOo.org, as for example: You are using Writer when you design a form, and Paint to create or modify a picture or a grafic document.
I hope it could explain the reason to "register a new database"
My best regards Carlos Martinez

When creating new databases with Base, one of the steps is to
"register the database in OpenOffice.org". To the casual end user,
this sounds like creating an association between the database files
and some website. Before I file an issue on this, I would like to hear
the list's opinion on how the wording could be improved.

Thanks.

one idea.

"Register this database as data source for other OpenOffice.org modules?"

Excellent, as it explains how the registration affects the user and
gives and advantage. Thanks!

Hi Dotan
This may be a better statement, but I still don't understand what it means. Could someone post a description of just what happens if you say yes? Does you data base tables (including data) get transfered? Does just your table definitions. What about the forms, queries and reports? Where do they go?
