2009/5/26 Marko Balokovic <[email protected]> > How do I turn off the auto correction of date formats [whenever I write > d.m.yyyy. (or any other format), I get dd.mm.yy]?. I especially want to turn > it off because, in my language, the year should be written with a dot (e.g. > 2009., not 2009) and not to say that zeros are totally unnecessary (e.g. I > don't need 03, to tell me it's March, a simple 3 would do). > >
Right click on the cell you want to change de date format ad select Format Cells... you are going to be directed to a Format Cells window in which you can make anything you want to the cell or cells you have selected, on there go to the Numbers tab and in the Format Code write "D.M.YYYY." that is what you want, that is what you get. I have tried it and works perfectly. I have inserted 28/05/2009 (today date on my country format) and it turns to 28.5.2009. (in the format you want it to be).
