[users] recent documents in writer

Writer 3.10 is not keeping track of the recent documents.  Is there 
something that I am supposed to turn on?  Is anyone else having this 
trouble?I don't know when the problem started, I just know that when I 
opened the writer this last seven or eight times there were no recent 
documents and writer.
