Never mind, it seems like it's a compatibility issue (or lack thereof). I need to figure out how the document needs to be set up in order for Quickbooks to be able to import it. I'm looking for a bookkeeper to help me out with it. In fact, an accountant told me today that he never recommends importing from excel (as is the only option with Qbooks) becasue it can cause too many problems and it may not transfer properly.
However, there now is another question since I've downloaded the latest version. My .xls documents can no longer be opened directly unless I save them in the openoffice format. But that doesn't seem to be a problem on my laptop which is also updated (although that one had the 2.4 version previously). Also, can the open office formats (calc) now be read by computers that are using microsoft excel? I know that I always had to save any document in their format for them to be able to read it. And there were still noticable formatting differences noticed. Thanks. It doesn't recognize it. Will updating to the latest version solve the problem? And I suppose I will have to copy & paste the info into the updated template?!? Is there also a way to get set up so that I have the option to automatically update OpenOffice when new versions come out? I also have 3 of the OpenOffice systems on my laptop. It is an ASUS that only has 4GB to run everything. So if there are downloads, can I automatically just update the ones that I have on it at present? (Actually, come to think of it, I believe I put it on my external harddrive, but I still limited it to the 3. I think parts of it are still connected into the main computer). Your help would be appreciated. Thank you, Lene (:~] __________________________________________________________________ Get the name you've always wanted @ymail.com or @rocketmail.com!
