I AM NEW TO OPEN OFFICE, AND AM TRING TO LEARN. I DO GET E-MAILS WITH

First off Matt, all caps is considered to be shouting & is quite generally
frowned upon.
Second, email isn't one of OpenOffices forte's. Yes, OOo can incorporate
your images into a document quite nicely, I've been building my Christmas
cards that way since back in 1.1 days. I would import the images, save
the file as a .pdf maybe, and mail the .pdf to whomever you want to have
it, with the mailer of your choice. A lot of folks like thunderbird, but
I like kmail better. That part (what mailer to use) is always a matter of
personal taste.
Third, you can also note that I put my reply below your question. Again
this is the natural, and much preferred style on every mailing list I
haunt, about 3 dozen of them. Top posting, where you put your reply above
the question being asked, will usually get your breeches warmed up. I see
you are using windows, from your messages header:
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.5512
X-MIMEOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.5579
So you may have to manually move the cursor to where you want to enter
your answer, and its quite alright to enter your answer below the
question, intermixed with the rest of the message so that the context of
the "conversation" is in the same order it would be in if you were
standing there talking to the other party.
I should offer to send flowers for using windows, but... I'm a linux user
myself, since 1998.
BTW, thunderbird is available for windows.
The OP is not subscribed so it is highly likely the s/he will not see
your reply because you didn't explicitly cc him/her.
Sorry Harold, but the [USERS] was in the subject line of the message I replied
to. Is this no longer a way to tell if they are subbed?
Humm, on going back to check, I also see [users] [moderated], so that tells me
he isn't, had I been paying attention. Apparently I wasn't. :(
Can we make it one or the other please, both is at a glance confusing.
Gene,
Unless something has changed quite drastically in the very recent past
neither "[USERS]" nor "[moderated]" nor both is any indication as to
whether or not the user is subscribed. These subjects lines are
generated automatically when a user, whether subscribed or not, clicks
on various mailto: links on the OOo web site.
The *only* way to tell if the user is unsubscribed is to look at the
headers of the e-mail. If and only if there is one saying "Delivered-To:
moderator for [email protected]", then the user is *not* subscribed.
If this header is absent then the user is subscribed.
If you use an e-mail reader like Thunderbird you can set a filter to tag
messages from unsubscribed users.
