I keep hearing people say to extend the desktop, but I've not figured out
how to do that. I use Ubuntu mostly, but if you could tell me how to do
it XP, I could probably figure it out.
tnx
For XP place your cursor on a background area on your desktop and right
click to get the pop-up box. Select "Properties". In the Display
Properties pop-up select "Settings". Click the image of screen 2. You
should then be able to check (tic) the box near the bottom of the pop-up
that says "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor." Of course this
will only work if you have already connected an external monitor or
projector.
If you have trouble accessing the Display Properties pop-up from the
desktop, then go to Control Panel and select "Display".
If your display driver has an icon in the tray of the task bar, you can
access its specialized controls to do the same thing. I would presume
that you would use your display driver to accomplish the extend desktop
feature on Linux.
